WELCOME TO MY GARDEN

Hi, I am Giovanna Dalla Vecchia D’Assunção (she/her)

A storyteller who believes in art as a form of healing. Through poetry and performance, I investigate the inner workings of one’s soul. My debut bilingual poetry collection, O Meu Amor é um Pé de Amora, marks the beginning of the journey from childhood to adolescence into adulthood. By mirroring the lens of the women in my life who have shaped me, I discover who I am because of them and beyond them.  My work revolves around the belief that we all have a garden inside us worthy of care and blossoming. You can find me most probably underneath a blackberry tree.

A recent honors graduate from New York University Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama and a minor in Creative Writing. Primary and Advanced Training in Stella Adler Studio of Acting.
