WELCOME TO MY GARDEN

Hi, I am Giovanna Dalla Vecchia D’Assunção (she/her)

Giovanna Dalla Vecchia (she/hers) (Actor/Deviser) is a NY-based Actor, Writer, and Teaching Artist originally from Brazil. An NYU honors graduate with a BFA in Drama training at Stella Adler Studio of Acting, with a minor in Creative Writing. I use poetry and performance as instruments to poke at and explore the inner workings of one's soul. Recent works: La Petite Mort (The Tank, PhysFest) is a journey about navigating one’s first encounter with Desire and calling the audience to awaken their own selves from hibernation. In 2023, I debuted my first bilingual poetry book, titled O Meu Amor é um Pé de Amora (My Love is a Blackberry Tree), a coming-of-age collection on defining what love is through the lessons the women taught me and on how to nurture it because of them and despite them. My work tends to revolve around the belief that we all have a garden inside us worthy of care and blossoming. You can most probably find me underneath a blackberry tree.
